Benjamin Bagby, Tanglewood and Beowulf
This summer Benjamin Bagby appeared at the Tanglewood Festival in Lenox, Massachusetts. He performed a sizable portion of Beowulf, the Old English epic. Bagby recited and played medieval harp. He is an incredibly gifted and powerful performer. You must check out the YouTube videos of a performance of Beowulf given in Europe. He is best known to me as one of the founders of Sequentia. I most adore their performances of the works of Hildegard von Bingen.
